Vacation 12/26/08 - 1/3/09

After visiting Pfieffer University we headed to Franklin, NC to start our vacation. We had a blast!! We went into Gatlinburg, TN twice that week. (one of our favorite place in the mountains) Did lots of shopping (probably to much if there's such a thing..LOL) and had plenty of BBQ. We also went into Maggie Valley, NC to the Chataloochee Ski area that I have been wanting to go. There were so many people you could bearly fit into the ski shop; so we decided to pass skiing this time and go back when the kids were in school. It was 24 degrees there and WINDY!!! My asthma kicked into high gear but it was fun. We went into Cherokee, NC and Tallagha Falls, Ga. Bill and I did a hike there and it was beautiful. It's always nice to go on vacation but it's true..."there's no place like home."

Christmas 2008

We had a wonderful Christmas as always. Bill surprised me with a diamond ring!! Wow!! The longer we are married the better he does. We got to spend Christmas Eve with my brother and his family which is always special to me. They came over and we had dinner and the kids played. After they left we had annual tradition....we watched Christmas Vacation. After we opened our presents Christmas morning we headed to see mom and dad ( my in-laws ) as always it was a fun morning. After lunch we took down the tree and by 2:00pm there was no sign of Christmas. Woo Hoo I got back my house. Oh Yes, Bill got lots of nice things and Jacob got games, and electric razor, I-Pod docking station/alarm clock and lots of $$$$$ from my dad and step-mom.

College searching continues

We left Gainesville the day after Christmas and headed to Misenheimer, NC. We arrived Saturday at Pfeiffer University to take a private tour with the cycling coach. We had a wonderful time meeting with him and a couple of the students on the cycling team. We spent most of the day there on campus touring the buildings, a dorm room, and the mountain bike track. It is a beautiful campus that is all red brick, southern style buildings with white columns. After touring and talking with everyone we realized that was not the place for Jacob. So the search continues. We first visited Flagger College in St. Augustine, Florida ( my favorite ) but they do not offer his studies. So we'll see what happens next....of course mom thinks he can live at home and go locally...if that's what Jacob wants. haha

Anniversary

Well today is our 21 year anniversary. WOW!!! I can not believe it has been 21 years. It seems the time has gone by so fast. I love Bill more each day that passes and can not wait to see all the excitement that comes next....love you baby!!!!

The Martin Family

I've decided to create a blog page to keep family and friends up to date with all our happenings. I hope you enjoy hearing about Jacob, Bill, and myself.
